Anyway, I’ve been taking a short break from Chiron Gate this month so I can come back to it with fresh eyes for the final push, and one of the things I’ve done in the meantime is create my first tabletop RPG, Encounter. It’s a one-page, one-shot tabletop RPG about space explorers encountering an alien entity, inspired by science fiction such as Solaris, Forbidden Planet, Arrival, and roughly every 3rd episode of Star Trek. Repair your ship to escape the planet, try to understand the entity, face up to your past, and possibly become Changed…
I’m not counting this as a Patreon update because it’s not a digital game, but I’ve released it as pay-what-you-want on itch.io so you can chip in if you want to. I enjoyed writing this, and I’m thinking about creating a larger tabletop RPG in the future (although not until Chiron Gate is done).
